Fabrication of bristlegrass-like VO2 (B)-ZnO heteroarchitectures as anode materials for lithium-ion batteries

AbstractThree-dimensional bristlegrass-like hierarchical VO2 (B)-ZnO heteroarchitectures with ZnO nanorods grown radially on VO2 (B) nanorods were successfully fabricated via a simple two-step synthesized method. When applied as an anode material for lithium-ion batteries, the VO2 (B)-ZnO hybrid electrode exhibited high reversible capacity and excellent recyclability, which could be originated from the unique hierarchical structure of the bristlegrass. After 80 cycles, the nanocomposite still maintained a higher reversible capacity of 329.4 mA h g(-1) at a current density of 50 mA g(-1). Therefore, the particular architecture of VO2 (B)-ZnO nanocomposite can be a promising candidate as the anode material in lithium-ion batteries.
